Di Drocones, a tall, lithe man turned and bolted through an alleyway. Behind him, the authorities of Solbadia chased him, armed with weapons and ready to kill. As he turned the corner, a beam of light shot behind him, burning an inch through the concrete wall that it hit.
Di looked ahead. A dead end was looming upon him, over two stories tall, and the authorities weren't about to let him get out alive. And so he did the only thing he knew to. And it was something that he had perfected in the past. "Berni Kidrones!" He yelled into the air.
In an instant, all the strength returned to his legs in one powerful blast, and he felt energy surge through them. He had just used the Korhesion Language; the language of a long dead race that had the power to summon energy at the spoken word.
As he heard another weapon discharge, he jumped. He felt as though he was flying, and it looked like it too. Until he landed balanced on the top of the building that had previously been blocking his path. With his new found strength, that he knew was only temporary, he weathered the fall, and swiftly charged forward, narrowly avoiding another volley of shots.
Then he was gone, disappearing in the shadows to go to the only safe place in the city. He was going to the ISOU today...

After a rough encounter with someone else in his "safe place", Di returned back on top of the building. He quickly jumped behind a vent, seeing that the authorities were already on the roof. But he didn't do it fast enough, as Di's worst enemy, Biros Kor, saw the billowing cloak as Di jumped.
"He's there! Get him!" Came Biros' deep voice as the other agents suddenly advanced on Di. As they came upon him, Di felt frozen. And then everything was black...

He awoke as so many before him had awoken after being knocked out. Tied to a cold metal chair, with a large black screen in front of him. His mind was groggy, and his head throbbed painfully.
A voice rang out loudly around him, as though the volume on a microphone had been maxed out just to make Di go deaf.
"Mr. Di Dracones, registered fugitive, wanted for the murders of over ten Solbadian Agents, for running from authorities, and for the unlawful use of magic to commit criminal acts. Demon, six foot, eight inches, weight unknown... Maybe we should have weighed you first, but I suppose it's too late now."
A pain shot through Di's leg, but he didn't even look down. He knew what was happening. The black screen in front of him lit up with numbers.
"I don't think I have to explain the Neurostasis Dart to someone like you, Di. You'll die just like your father. A fool."
Di's voice snaked through the room like a snake, and he could feel the fear suddenly emanating from the agent on the other side of that microphone.
"You know what I say to this? Forzi!" And as he spoke that last word, the screen in front of him cracked, and the number on it, "23" disappeared.
But Di continued. "And if you think that the pain will make me give in, Kirbe Norocu Beres Ni! I can no longer feel anything. But, I suppose I will die just like my father. A fool, but a helluva lot smarter than your kind. Because your kind has no idea the kinda stuff we protected you from. And your kind has no idea that if that thing was to suddenly reappear as a... Oh, say, bio-weapon, we wouldn't hesitate to set it loose upon you. But hey, if I have to die, I have to die. But without a captured demon who knows about the capital of the Demons, and actually lives in Solbadia, you'll soon follow."
The comment had the desired effect. In reality, Di only had two more seconds to live, but the antidote thudded into his arm, but he felt nothing. "Then we have other forms of torture, Di Dracones."
Di smiled maliciously. "I'm not the one soon to be tortured, Mister Biros."
Di could feel that his muscles were paralyzed, and that only his mouth could move. He had experienced this before. It was the same thing that he had been paralyzed with in the ISOU after he had started attacking someone there.
The rope was untied, and Di was blindfolded. But he wanted to see where he was going, and he knew he was one of those prisoners that was "too important to be killed at the time". And so he muttered a phrase under his breath. "Forzi!" And his sight returned as the blindfold tore itself apart. They didn't bother trying it again, and they carried him to another room, where he was tied up. By this time, the spell that kept him from feeling anything had worn off.
He saw another screen in front of him, and this one too, was completely blank. Then it lit up, flashing the number 12:00. And it slowly changed to 12:01, and then 12:02, and then 12:03, changing once per minute. It was a clock.
"We'll be back in twenty-four hours to see if you've changed your mind, Mister Dracones."
Di's voice was just as malicious when he replied. "I'm sure you will."

Di's sight was blurred by the time twenty-four hours had passed. They had heated the room to seem like a furnace, even to a Demon who thrived on extreme temperatures. He saw a shape step in, and inwardly knew it was an agent. The silhouette spoke clearly, but the words entered Di's cluttered and muddled mind like a string of sounds blended thoughtlessly together.
"Are you ready to divulge any secrets that you know? After all, if you ally yourself with us, we can be very protective friends."
At the last word, every thought came back in a blur of light. His mind was once again sharp and clear. Something was seriously wrong. He glanced around, as though expecting to see something jump out of the walls. "Let me out." He said, forgetting that he was talking to the Solbadian Authorities.
The agent laughed before he replied. "Not before you give us the answers we want will those ropes be released."
Di replied in a different language. Not the Korhesion Tongue, but his native tongue, the language of Demons.
"Korvei Su Vik Neir Di Bikenri. Kizor Norvai Kesin Sudi." What did he really say? It was a threat. And to Di's utter surprise, the agent understood it.
"I know what you speak of, Mister Dracones. And it will all come to an end soon enough. We have other captives. And the first one to give in, will be the first and only one to live."
Di had the urge to say 'You'll die if you don't let me out!', but he figured that the Solbadian Authorities deserved what was coming. Although Di himself had no idea of the magnitude of what was coming.
The last thing he heard was the spine of that agent splitting apart with an audible crack, and then a massive weapon descended upon him. He couldn't dodge it while tied up. And he couldn't see his assailant. And before he had time to register exactly what had happened, everything went black...
